What is an apple pie without a pleasant kick? A carrot cake without a warming flavour? Many people associate spices with chillies and hot curries, but they can be used for puddings and sweet treats too. A hot cross bun with no spices would just be a glorified bread roll! Make sure our Mixed Pudding Spice is always within reach, so your baked goods are never bland!

We’ve been putting spices in our sweet treats for thousands of years, actually. Ancient civilisations such as the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all had a sweet tooth, making use of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom.

Additionally, during the middle ages and the time of colonial Empires, spices were highly prized and sought after. Having them in a dessert or sweet dish was reserved for the nobility and upper classes – a way to flex your wealth!

Pudding spice is a traditional spice blend that encompasses both sweet and warming flavours from cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, coriander, clove and mace. The spice mix originates from the UK to flavour cakes, biscuits, mincemeats, rice puddings, Christmas treats and more!

Try adding Mixed Pudding Spices to banana bread, sticky toffee pudding or shortbread. You could also use the spice mix in our Mixed Spice Apple CrumbleChristmas Pudding and Christmas Cake recipes.

Also available in an organic version.

Love this pudding spice. I use it in banana loaf with sultanas but it's also really nice added to dry porridge ingredients. Makes a lovely winter porridge.

This is one of my favourites. I has a very nice rounded aroma and taste one does not normally get with "mixed spice". It works well with cakes and puddings. I don't think I'd make a switch away from this.

I cannot do without Ras-El-Hanout or all the other savoury spices, and just tried the sweet ones (cinnamon, pudding spice, ginger etc) for my Christmas baking - and wow, you cannot do without them. The taste difference from other commercial products is astonishing, so don't waste time or money on anybody elses's products. All Seasoned Pioneer products are AMAZING.

Best mixed spice I have ever bought. The house smelt like Christmas whilst cooking the buns and the buns tasted divine. The spice is really fresh and can be tasted, just about to make another batch of buns and Christmas cake.
