Khmeli-Suneli spices is a pleasant mix of warm, herbal flavours. It contains spiced, citrus notes from ingredients including coriander, clove, cinnamon and fennel seeds. The flamboyant addition of marigold petals provides a wonderfully sweet taste that adds a greater depth of flavour.
Originating from Georgia, Khmeli-Suneli is an all-purpose seasoning. Considered one of the essential spice blends in Georgian cooking, “Khmeli-Suneli” translates to “dried spices” in the Georgian language. It reflects the combination of various dried herbs and spices used in the blend, which in themselves reflect the diverse geography and climate of Georgia.
Georgian cuisine encompasses the best parts of Eastern and Western cooking. It is used liberally within stews, soups and meat dishes. You’ll often find it’s used in traditional dishes like chakhokhbili (chicken stew), kharcho (beef soup), and lobio (bean stew). This mix has a wonderful ability to add spectacular flavour to beans and roasted vegetables.
