Baharat is the famous Middle Eastern all-purpose seasoning! It has punchy, bold and vibrant flavours from paprika, cumin, clove and cayenne. The word “Baharat” in Arabic translates to “spices” or “blend of spices,” reflecting its nature as a versatile and flavourful spice mixture. The origins of Baharat Spice Blend can be traced back to the old spice trade routes that connected the Middle East, Mediterranean and South East Asia over the centuries.

Baharat is used to caramelise onions, rub on lamb and massage into ground meat to make kofta or meatballs, and even kebabs.

Middle Eastern chefs and home cooks reach for Baharat to add a pleasant kick of spice to vegetable dishes, couscous, stewed tomato and marinades. I have found all of seasoned pioneers herbs & spices to be really good and am building stocks up and adding new mixes as I use up my old jars of stuff. Really enjoy experimenting with my own mixes and know that everything stays fresher longer in the pouches. Really recommend

What an exquisite spice blend. I was not too sure about the clove in this spice blend, I am glad to say that the flavours were astonishing and delicious. I am an adventurous cook anyway and wanted to branch out more. I used the Baharat in bean casserole dishes and tomato based pasta dishes. They worked their wonder and everyone was delighted with the results. Definitely will be keeping this lovely spice blend in my kitchen.

Made a fabulous Lamb Tagine the other day using beef stock, Lamb neck fillet, onions, garlic, pickled lemons and Baharat Spice Blend, it was so flavoursome and a pleasant change from using ras el hanout or Harissa. This spice mix is so very versatile, so superb to have some in, will be using as a rub on some chicken thighs later.
