Chermoula spice mix is a delicately balanced spice mix that contains a mouth-watering combination of garlic, cumin, lemon peel, paprika and coriander. The name “Chermoula” comes from the Arabic word “chermel,” which means “to rub” or “to marinate”, indicating the traditional method for using this spice blend as a marinade or rub for fish and seafood.
Known as a fishes best friend, Chermoula spice blend is used throughout Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Algeria to rub or marinade freshly caught fish. Throughout Tunisia, it is used during Eid al-Fitr on salted cured fish to mark the end of Ramadan.
The exact origins of this Chermoula spice mix are not known, but it’s clear that the spice mix developed as a result of the blending of culinary traditions in the region with the influences of Berber, Arab, and Mediterranean cultures all contributing to its unique flavour profile.
We think the Chermoula seasoning is great to add to a fish pie or rubbed onto salmon fillets. Also works well with meat and roasted vegetables. You could even mix this with olive oil, lemon juice, or vinegar and create a tangy dressing or dipping sauce for salads, bread and roasted vegetables.

Mixed this is with olive oil to a big tray of vegetables and roasted for nearly an hour - majority of the time we covered the veg with foil and removed towards to the end. Flavour was great and we had with mexican cous cous

I haven’t tried the spice mix yet but Seasoned Pioneers have offered excellent customer service and communication and a very speedy delivery.
I mix it with honey and a glug of olive oil, spread it over aubergine and bell peppers, and then I roast them. It adds variety to my veggie meals!
I've tried a few different blends and this one is my favourite by far. The packet goes a long way, as even a pinch carries a lot of flavour.
