Who doesn’t love Fajitas?! Our Fajita Seasoning is a tangy, smoky and spicy Tex-Mex blend, also known as Mexican Spice. The authentic mix contains vibrant flavours of cumin, paprika, garlic, chilli, cayenne, thyme, allspice and more. Fajita Seasoning is the perfect ingredient to add to meat and vegetables, before wrapping in heated tortillas to make the iconic finger food.
Fajitas, as we know them today, are a product of Tex-Mex cuisine. The dish was popularised in Texas, particularly in the Rio Grande Valley and along the Texas-Mexico border. This fusion cuisine blends Mexican flavours with Texan influences.
To use, marinate strips of steak or chicken overnight. In Spanish, Fajita translates to ‘thin strip’. Like its name suggests, the meat should be cut finely to soak up the flavourful spices. Fajitas trace their roots to Mexican ranching culture, where ranch hands would grill this inexpensive cut of beef over an open flame.
For a meat-free alternative, use vegetables such as peppers and red onions. Fry on a high heat and serve with lashings of guacamole, sour cream, a healthy sprinkle of cheese and spicy tomato salsa!
Use this Fajita seasoning to make our chicken fajitas! While skirt steak is the traditional choice for beef fajitas, other proteins like chicken, shrimp, and even tofu can be used to create variations of the dish to suit different preferences. Alternatively, use to make variations of the dish such as tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The spice mix is also great in other Mexican dishes such as three bean chilli and chilli con carne.

Verified ownerThe best Fajita seasoning we have had. Most brands seem to have thickeners and other padding so work out quite expensive. This one was vibrant and as the previous reviewer describes, fresh. I used 2 onions, 3 peppers, 3 chicken breasts with 2 heaped teaspoons of the seasoning. Nice with wholemeal pitta breads toasted. And a very simple dish to create. I only use Seasoned Pioneers now.

I was sent this mix by Hello Fresh for 2 recipies and it was so good I had to ask them who their spice supplier was to get hold of some more as i tried to recreate using a mix from a supermarket and it just wasn't the same.
