Gujarati Masala has a sweet, peppery flavour with a pop of chilli! Cumin, sesame seeds, fennel and ajowan are the standout flavours within this Indian spice blend. Much like Garam Masala Balti, this Indian spice mix is vital when making Gujarati meals at home.
Gujarat is a region along the West Indian Coastline with access to an array of fresh fish. Despite this, most of the population is vegetarian! Gujarati Masala can be used with meat and seafood but particularly elevates meat-free options.
Try this spice mix with dals, paneer and mixed vegetable-based curries. It is also great with mung beans and as a rice seasoning.

Picked this up in a Deli and was impressed with the ingredient list and packaging. As suggested it is wonderful with chicken. Have also used it with vegetables. One of the best spice mixes I have used - the Ajwain seeds give it a lovely earthiness. This and a few other packs I got have converted me to Seasoned Pioneers.
